(December 1, 2005)
Jason Kern, the IT manager of TrustBank,
attended the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) seminar "IT
Audit Tools for the Financial Auditor", on Thursday, December
1, 2005. This one-day seminar, held at the CBAI Headquarters

provided tips on evaluating the bank's security infrastructure
which supports its technology risks and helped participants develop
a risk-based audit plan for their information system. Topics
covered included getting prepared for your next exam, areas to
audit, and
IT risks inherent in financial institutions. Types of substantive
testing and common findings were also addressed.
Laura Schumacher,
CPA and associate with BKD LLP, St. Louis, Missouri, led this
seminar. Schumacher consults on risk management, bank operations,
and information security. She provides a wide range of accounting,
auditing, and consulting services, including managing audits
and internal audits, and performing risk assessments.
