Martin W. Atwood and Steven L. Schonert Join Board

Martin W. Atwood and Steven L. Schonert were elected to TrustBank’s
Board of Directors at their May 19, 2005 meeting.
Atwood was raised near Mt Erie, graduated from Cisne High School,
attended Olney Central College and graduated from Southern Illinois
University with a B.S. in Plant Industries.
Atwood worked for 22 years as County Supervisor for the Farmers
Home Administration in Olney. He currently operates a grain farm
with his son, Troy. They farm in Richland, Wayne and Clay counties.
He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
Martin and his wife, Shirley, are the parents of two sons, Troy
Atwood and Dr. Brian and Susan Atwood. They are the grandparents
of five grandsons and one granddaughter.
Schonert has been a partner with Kemper CPA Group LLP since October
1, 1986 and currently manages the Olney office. After transferring
from Olney Central College, Steve graduated from University of
Illinois with a B.S. in Accounting. He is currently a member of
both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA).
Steve has consulting experience in several industries including
banks, wholesaling companies, manufacturing companies and employee
benefit plans. In addition to advising small business clients,
he works extensively with individuals in the areas of tax preparation,
planning and financial consulting.
In addition to his work, Steve is a member of the First United
Methodist Church and has served as Treasurer, Finance Chairman
and Chairman of the Church Board. He is also a member of the Board
of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Richland County.
Steve is supported at home by his wife Maridel, a public school
teacher and two sons, Jonathan and Neil. Jonathan is currently
a student at University of Illinois and Neil is a student at Olney
Central College.
