 Cisne Reunion

TrustBank is proud to be one of the Cisne Reunion sponsors.  This event is a time to visit with old friends and enjoy entertainment provided by the Cisne Reunion.  This event has been going on for over 100 years and is an annual draw for former Cisne natives and newcomers alike.  The Reunion always starts on the Wednesday evening before the second Saturday in August.

The Reunion opened on Wednesday evening with gospel groups from the surrounding areas.  This year’s groups were “The Messengers N’ Harmony”, “The Gospel Messengers” and “The Shepherdsmen Quartet”.

Thursday evening was the Miss and Little Miss Cisne Reunion pageant.  The 2010 Miss Cisne Reunion was Shea Bullard, daughter of Brian and Kim Bullard and granddaughter of our own Marsha Bullard Powless.  Shea’s mother and older sister, Lindsey, had also won the title of Miss Cisne Reunion in years past.  The Little Miss Cisne Reunion crowned this year was Kirsten Powell, daughter of Jessica Woods and Jeff Murphy. The pageant is always a big event during the Reunion.

On Friday evening we had a variety of entertainment with songs from “Rachel McCulley Hooper and her dad, Sonny McCulley”.  Then the “Big Hair Band” lip synced to some of the hits from the 80’s.  This was followed by country music provided by the “Hidden Creek” band.  There was also a teen dance for the young people on Friday evening.

Saturday was a full day of fun with a breakfast at the Community Center, a tractor and implement school on the lawn of the Middle School and a car show hosted by the Clay County Cruisers in front of the Middle School.  Then later in the morning it was Kid’s Day with free rides and fun and games for the kids.  The BIG Cisne Reunion Parade was at 2:00PM with the Mayor Roy Atwood as this year’s Parade Grand Marshal.  Roy has the Barber Shop and Atwood’s Auction Service here in Cisne.

After the parade there was a Pedal Tractor Pull, Backseat Driver Contest, and a Corn Hole Tournament.  The evening’s entertainment was provided by “The Blue Suede Crew”.  This was a very popular group with the crowds and many people said it was the best entertainment we had in years.

Each evening there were food stands, vendors of all sorts, Bingo, and other attractions in the park.  This entertainment is all provided free to the public by the donations from sponsors and merchants to the Cisne Reunion Board.  We are pleased to be a part of this ongoing tradition.

To learn more about the different events, you may contact Judi Schell at TrustBank in Cisne at 618-673-2165.  She will be able to direct you to the proper person to answer your questions.

The 2011 Cisne Reunion will be held August 10 – 13.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE
COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
