TrustBank TrustBank iCard Personal

The TrustBank iCard gives you the convenience of accessing your money 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The iCard has no annual fee, and if you use it at any of our convenient 24-hour Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), there is no transaction fee. Also, the TrustBank iCard gives you access to over 37,000 surcharge-free ATMs across the US. Look for the Allpoint logo on the ATM!

The iCard also works like a check... only better! Use your card just as you would a credit card at any retailer that accepts VISA debit cards. Your funds will then be debited from your checking account just like a check.

What is the difference between Debit and Credit?

It's time to pay for groceries at the local convenience store. You tell the cashier you're paying with your iCard. She then asks, "Debit or Credit?"

Ever wonder why you're asked this question? The merchant is simply asking how you would like the transaction to be processed. No matter how you respond - either "debit" or "credit" - the purchase will be deducted from your checking account. Even if you say "credit," it will not be billed as a credit card when using your TrustBank iCard.

What's the difference, then?

Debit

  • Your transaction is processed through ATM Network.
  • You can get cash back from your available checking account balance up to the merchant's limit. You will then see the cash back amount added to the total purchase price. This will make up the total transaction price.
  • You must use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to authorize the sale.

Credit

  • Your transaction is processed through VISA Network.
  • You must sign to authorize the sale.

You can choose debit or credit - either way you will not be charged a transaction fee.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE
COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money-market deposit accounts.
